Give Big to DNDA on May 6th!
GiveBIG is almost here! The Seattle Foundation’s GiveBIG is a one-day, online charitable giving event encouraging people to give generously to nonprofit organizations who make our region a healthier and more vital place to live. It’s a wonderful opportunity to make your donation go even further to support your community. How? Each donation made to DNDA/Youngstown through The Seattle Foundation’s website between midnight and midnight on Tuesday, May 6, 2014, will receive a prorated portion of the matching funds pool. This means that the more donations we get from you – our community supporters – the more we’ll get from The Seattle Foundation.
We had lots of support during last year’s GiveBIG, receiving close to $5000 from individual community donors. Those funds have helped us achieve great success over the last year, allowing us to expand our programs, support local artists, and explore new ways of better serving the Delridge community. Now, we’re counting on YOU to help us beat last year’s total so that the Delridge Neighborhoods Development Association and the Youngstown Cultural Arts Center can continue offering innovative and affordable services. In the upcoming year, DNDA plans to expand services for our low-income housing residents, and to help strengthen the Delridge community amidst rapid change and growth. At Youngstown, we will bring in new teaching artists to establish additional free youth arts programming, make updates to our facilities and equipment to better serve those who use our dynamic spaces, and bring a wider array of arts and cultural events to you, our community.
These plans are only made possible with your support. But remember– matching funds will only apply to donations that come in during the GiveBIG event, so plan ahead and be sure to get to your computer on TUESDAY, MAY 6th. Help DNDA and Youngstown continue to grow a thriving Delridge.
