Learn how to tell important stories that relate to your community, culture, and history through video. Participants will learn about social and media justice while gaining the technical and editing skills to create their own short films.

Writers WRITE! No matter who you are, we all have a truth to speak and a story to share. Writing Circle is the best way to keep your creative currents flowing and to meet other writers from across the city. Each writing circle has free writes and fun exercises that allow us to push our boundaries as writers within a safe and encouraging space.

GLEE CLUB is for youth who have past experience in intermediate group voice, theatre and dance. This class is designed for those who are interested in further developing their skill set, while incorporating these performing arts into one amazing venue. Youth will also have the opportunity to collectively create original pieces as well. So, if you love to sing, dance, and perform and are looking to take your skills to a new level, then Glee is the space to be!

Students will form bands or groups and be overseen by a musical mentor. Students will work collaboratively to write, create, and perform their own original music. The overall goal is to bring the students to a level in which they can perform at showcases and record in the Youngstown studio.

ORGANIC GARDENING

GROW UP! DIY ORGANIC GARDENING. Like food? Come to the Youngstown Garden and learn how to grow it, cook it, eat it, and use it. We'll care for our chickens, build and maintain our garden, learn about all aspects of food systems, listen to music, hang out, cook, and make herbal products with our garden bounty. Service learning hours available too. All are welcome.
SONG WRITING AND VOCALS

Learn the fundamentals of vocals including proper warm-up techniques and how to find their unique voice and style. Additionally, through listening labs, writing workshops, and group discussions, students will generate both the desire and ability to write their own songs. Each student will have the opportunity to write, perform and record a version of their song(s).

Release your musical artistry in the recording studio with teaching artist Daniel Pak (Kore Ionz, Totem Star Records). Create original beats, write and record lyrics, and mix the recorded tracks into songs. Learn about the music industry and how to get your musical career started.

BREAK DANCE
ARTS CORPS
JEROME APARIS – AKA JEROMESKEE

In this class you will learn the importance of foundation - proper form and technique along with the history of the dance. In addition, you will discover how movements relate to rhythm and the significance of character in your dancing. While you expand your mind with knowledge of the b-boy/b-girl persona, you may produce or improve your own personal style. Students with instruction and guidance will have the chance to test their limits with advanced innovative moves.
