Alberto Mejia (Wikimedia Joe Mabel)Alberto is the Director of Programming at the Youngstown Cultural Arts Center, supervising and facilitating overall program design, implementation, evaluation and staff management in Youngstown youth and arts programing.
 
Alberto earned a Masters degree in Public Administration from the Evans School of Public Affairs at the University of Washington. He has over 8 years of professional youth work experience, serving culturally and economically diverse youth as an AmeriCorps volunteer, a Resource Specialist with foster and street youth, and a Case Manager for at risk and dropout Latino youth. Alberto is an advocate for integrating positive youth development and youth-driven models into youth work. Alberto is a graduate of the leadership institute at the National Association of Latino/a Arts and Culture.  He is a Lead Facilitator for the Power of Hope and a Mentor with The Service Board.  
 
Alberto is a local hip hop emcee in Seattle. Alberto promotes and discourses forward thinking global music through the blog lastnightsmixtape.com, and progressive contemporary Chican@/Latin@ art and culture at his blog. He also is very much in love with his fiancee Estrella.
